Engineering Technician

The ideal person is a jack-of-all-trades, a quick learning, self-motivated individual comfortable with hardware, software, mechanical principles, and electronic circuitry.

Education/Training

AS or BS in Science or Engineering

Key Requirements
  • Ability to problem-solve using engineering or scientific methods.
  • Must be creative, self-motivated and able to work in teams or independently in a rapid and highly adaptive production environment.
  • An aptitude for learning new diagnostic tools, and an eagerness to improve upon the techniques and tools used.
  • Fine scale dexterity, small tool dexterity and attention to detail.
  • Basic circuit knowledge and experience with bench electronics.
  • Experience with computers, e-mail, and data spreadsheets as the primary means of documentation.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of failure analysis techniques such as scanning electron microscopy, ultrasonic analysis of IC packaging, destructive testing, and non-destructive electrical testing in order to determine the root cause of part failure.
  • Work with design, packaging, and test engineers to identify and correct the causes of production line failures.
  • Maintain test facilities and documentation within ISO 9001:2000 standards and requirements.
